The Aster Sanad Hospital Department of Gastroenterology specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. The Gastroenterology department at the hospital consists of the two Gastroenterology clinics in the outpatients department, endoscopy unit, and the endoscopy sterilization unit.
The endoscopy unit provides the patients with a wide variety of endoscopic diagnostic procedures. The Gastroenterology Department is well equipped to perform upper and lower endoscopies for adults and children and to obtain biopsies if the need arises.
The Endoscopy unit performs the following procedures:
• Upper GI endoscopy
• Liver biopsy

• Controlling of upper or lower GI bleeding by injecting sclerosant or by coagulation therapy (endoscopic cautery)
• Polyps’ removal by endoscopic procedures

• Endoscopic removal of GI foreign bodies
